Mare Nostrum or Mediterranean Sea, a site of stories, legends, pirates, corsairs, merchants and ancestral civilizations… and in the middle: Ciutat de Mallorques, the gathering point of thousand nationalities.

With this new walking tour, that we desig for locals as well as people just passing through, we will answer lots of those questions and to all the questions that you can think off! On this walking tour we will discover one of the most important economic hubs on the Mediterranean Sea and how it has changed over time.

The walking tour starts at Es Baluard, the Modern and Contemporary Art Museum of Palma, an old bastion of the renaissance wall of the city, from where we can see one of the most beautiful landscapes of the Mediterranean Sea.The visit ends at the current Passeig del Born and it lasts 2 hours.

We could describe the fisherman’s quarter as the most pinturesque and unknown district of the city where the seafaring professions were located. Beyond the bars, restaurants and nightlife, the seaside area is full of history, natural disasters, legends and a lot of sort of characters such as pirates, corsairs, merchants, slaves and ex-presidents of Goverment of the Balearic Islands.

The Seaside Palma tour takes place through the most important trade hub of the balearic archipielago, it was considered on of the most notable harbours in Europe and in to the Mediterranean Sea during the Middle and Modern Age thanks to its perfect location into the western Mediterranean Sea; for that reason all the buildings and professions are related to the sea. Even though, this quarter broke down into the economical and financial crisis and step by step it got abandoned  and deteriorated, then it became a marginal quarter of the capital until the beginning of the 21th Century when gradually this district has reborn again.
